Very cool
what's going on with the rails?
Mike Buffalry
Hi, the bottom of the board is flat and the rails are a hard edge "speed rail" except for the nose. These boards are about 33" long, I gave them about an 8" nose rocker and that part of the rail is soft. More or less a 50-50.
Seaweed Steve
many thanks, could you please post a photo of it in profile?

Hi, sorry I built those two boards for others and they are no longer in my possession. Probably hard to tell much from these photos but the bottoms look like this.
Seaweed Steve
thanks for the photos Mike. You've inspired me to do more research.

At the bottom of the list one can find more information about the "itako" surfing boards.

I made a paipo out of cedar planks from the Home Depot racks. 3'8" just under 6 pounds.
My handplanes are called "Seaplane" and I have made many shapes/templates over the years. Always glad to share the stoke!
For me a mid sized all-rounder is about 7.75"X13"ish. However I make bigger and smaller.
