Looks like a foam/glass board and the rider is wearing a pair of DaFins swim fins and paddling gloves. Damn, that could have easily have been me! Photo by Jim Crotty, March 18, 2016.

Makes me want to visit. Rod....I have been reading about the PR financial woes and now Zika concerns. Perhaps will reduce the head count in the line up. :D

Rod.....my last comment was rather callous....perhaps a "silver lining in a dark cloud" would have been more appropriate.

Dang...saw that photo and flashed to the very first Surfer magazine I ever bought, some kind of preview for the 1968 World Contest...California kid seeing the water looking that warm and nice...various shades of blues and greens...always meant to go but eventually everybody else did...

It is very crowded in the Rincon, PR area these days. Really hard for me to paddle out to Maria's these days--did it twice this past January and each time left a bad taste in my mouth. Still, my heart is there from having been a big part of my first 4 years of surfriding between 1967-1970 (the first half year being centered around the San Juan & and east of there.

The water is still green-blue (we like to say that Maria's is in the Caribbean and Punta Higuera/Antonio's is in the Atlantic, Domes actually as well.
