Is it possible to stand up surfing a paipo ?

Hi, I'm pretty sure I have seen on this website some interviews of guys who used to stand up surf their paipo boards at "the wall" spot. Basically, I was arguing with my son, I say it is possible to stand up, he says it is impossible. What do you think ? What kind of board, what kind of waves ? Is it possible with a big plywood paipo ? If it is possible, what about the shape ?

Show him this:

A young and limber Wally Froiseth wearing Churchill's.
The old Churchill's were so flexible you could easily do a pop up with them on. I rode a Lis Fish kneeling or standing like that in the 70's.

I like the shape of this board.

A few weeks ago SHACC hosted a party thrown by Maurice Cole for Tom Curren.

Curren showed his current surf toy, essentially a skimboard with fins.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. That's curious, but why not, looks like some kind of wooden mini simons.
