Jem had a customer that he had made a previous board for but it has been to long and had fo him to tun being more like a mini simmons. Jem had then loaned him his dads paipo (which is similar to my normal boards you have seen here before) and he had liked that so requested one of them.

The guy is 6'2" and 225lbs so I scaled my usual board up to what I thought someone 6" taller than me and 33% heavier would need, in average weak welsh beach breaks.

My boards are 23/25L 44" by 21/23" by 2 1/2" I scaled this up to 31.25L 48" by 23" by 3"

He also liked the hand grip/elbow recess of jems dads board (something i have not tried myself) so that was shaped in and you will see on the yellow top side of the board.

Construction is EPS non stringer 1.5pcf, epoxy glass.

you can also see one of jems waveskis for a differant Irish customer, which is jems normal choice of surf craft and what he builds most of.

8-)

Krusher,

Still a shortie by my standards.

What do you know about the Irish guy.

There's certainly a bit of growing contingent in Wales now.

I was thinking if he was in Ireland, I could catch up next year. I have dates worked out but I've not booked flights until I break the news at work.

I'll e-mail you about Indo sometime. I'd like to do it again, but probably in the opposite direction.

Yeah seems like paipos are getting onto the radar of the general surfing public now, seems like the stigma of a bodyboard being a childs toy does not transfer to a surfboard construction paipo, so seems some older guys struggling to surf (pop-up)on a standup board are either going SUP, or paipo.

The paipo isnt for the same guy as the waveski, its just a montage pic of jems latest builds.

Ireland had an epic oct, mick fanning was over there chasing waves it was that good.

looking forward to hearing about indo.
