More Mega Platters

My buddy Tony is about to take delivery of a new eps/epoxy, 6'3" x 29" Mega Platter. Tony resides in the cold, (*currently snowed in/under...) New England, but Spring is close and he's surrounded by high quality right and left point breaks, so I think this is going to get a good solid Maiden Voyage here before too long. Kirk McGinty of L-41 in Santa Cruz did another insane job, the crew at Stretch's did more of their magical lamination work, and Casey will provide the custom fitted rubber pad for traction. Just thought everyone would like to see a photo of the board, resting up against Stretch's facility wall before being packaged to be shipped across the country. The beauty of Stretch's is that they are FULLY set up for national AND international shipment, as they supply guns and tow boards internationally to the pros for years, and they've got the shipment part down cold. Nice to know you can get a great shape from Kirk and have it easily shipped to your nearest surf shop.

Nice lines on that board, my latest board is 19.5". I should call mine the skinny. Will be good to get a ride report and photos from the NE.

Yes, I'd never really visited that area before, but I was out there a few months ago and the setup is mind blowing.... Lots of high quality reef and point breaks, all condensed into a relatively small area, with incredible 'small town' positive vibes and a great local surfing culture. This board is going to 'fit' back there extremely well I'd think, and I can't wait for Tony to weigh in with some reports and photos...

Jeff, Do you use the 3/16" or 5/16" cove pads?

All athletes know the value of proper hydration...

I use the thicker one. In between sets, my usual position to 'rest' on my board is to have the board kind of sideways to the surf, with my elbows splayed out and myself stretched out to the side. The thicker material is SUPER COMFORTABLE, and I've really come to love it.
