The name history is interesting, here is a pic of what I was riding from the early 70’s (‘72)…, from left to right…,

Wow cool board, looks like a “kneeboarding”

I started surfing mats as a kid mid 70's and the Morey Boogie arrived here in Australia and I asked my Mum to buy one for 16th birthday . I got one of these instead from Mike Davis who had his shop in Kiama! Rode this for over a year before finally swapping over to kneeboards. I still have my original red and picked a up a blue one years later in my collection

bit short for kneeboarding unless your a lightweight world champ

I picked up my blue Bellybogger at the local opshop for $20, 3 years ago. I road it a few times but the lack of flotation meant that it now hangs on the garage wall. I got my local shaper to make me a fibreglass version with a more refined shape, rails and more volume.

Perhaps a 1/4” - 1/2” sheet of closed cell foam to add cushion and buoyancy?
John Mandybur
I'll show Dick your photo. He is the inventor.
Charlie Harris
I spoke to him a few years ago and said he was making board shorts then. I had a red one which is with an Afghanistan Vet who was severely wounded and can’t stand up on boards anymore.
May be an image of surfboard

Tom Francis
yeah mate i travelled around Oz with it and a longer wider square tail back in 91-93. Great for fast hollow waves. These pics are quite recent

In Oz there called
Belly boggers
Wierd horrible thing.
Trent Sutton
Yep labelled a bellybogger. I'd like to find one to see how terrible they are.
Ben Bann
Blast from the past!
Doc Robertson
have one if you want

Ray Henderson . PM if selling. It's a mild fascination so not looking too hard
Gary Clist
Also available in orange, but much rarer. If you decide to ride one, beware, as the plastic seems to deteriorate over time. One almost ripped my stomach apart years ago when it snapped in half mid bottom -turn on a beach break wave.

Gary Clist I got a blue one off u
Mark Fitzpatrick
Have 3 orange ones 2 same size 1 smaller
John DeVivo
That thing looks cool as hell! I guess if I was concerned about it snapping I’d probably put some 1/4” - 3/8” closed cell foam on it, and that may even add a bit of buoyancy… but I think it looks cool as SheeeeIIIIItttttt!

I had a red belly bogger when I was 15. Mainly drop down the face, bottom turn (or no bottom turn), then slide straight across the face of the wave. It wasn't very maneuverable. Had fun with it and got some stitches in the back of my head from a free fall down a large wave and the nose of the thing smashing into the back of my head.
Trent Sutton
I think the fins were largely redundant. I had an original Morey Boogie at the time and held a line with all that flex. I really think the Boggers just missed the mark and couldnt be used in the flags.
Michael Wiseman
hahaha no flex at all in the belly bogger. On the bright side it got me into kneeboarding after the experience of using it
